In January, I posted a blog about a phone call interview I had with REALTOR Magazine about "Cold-Calling in the Age of the Do Not Call list." I thought I had some wise things to say, but truly didn't think any of it would be printed since I'm pretty much clueless about anything to do with cold-calling (except there ain't no way I'm gonna do it).
Well, knock me over with a feather... yesterday I stumbled onto a featured blog by REALTOR Magazine and noticed that the graphic on the blog was the cover of the magazine my interview was meant for... Having nothing more pressing to do at the moment, I clicked on the link and what do I see? I got my own article! Not just a throwaway line in an article about Do-Not-Calling, but a whole headline and everything!
Now, I have to wonder... how come none of y'all mentioned this to me? Don't you read your REALTOR Magazine?
Anyway, here's the link. http://www.realtor.org/rmosales_and_marketing/articles/2010/1004_selling_donotcalllist. I doubt I'll change any die-hard cold-caller's mind about the practice, but maybe those of you who don't wanna cold-call can take comfort that there ARE alternatives!
Happy Friday, my friends!

Jen - I don't think I've received my latest issue yet. But, I normally read it from cover to cover. And, of course, being a big fan, I would have noticed. Congratulations. A smart cookie like you will get much more press. Exciting news.
Congratulations Jennifer! Look forward to reading it.
Your new tagline can be "Jennifer Allan - As Seen in REALTOR Magazine."
Jennifer,
That is sooo cool....I either haven't received...or been way too much selling soulfully to check through the mail...I am looking forward to it!
Jennifer,
Thanks for the link...I enjoyed reading it. I have learned from you the importance of providing value for you clients....similar to the phrase the better to give than to receive....and when you do...the interesting part is the more you give....the more you do receive!
I'm thinking maybe the printed version hasn't come out yet... but when it does - can someone send me a copy??? Pretty please????
JA - Congratulations! "Holy Moly", I thought you would've shouted out something more like "Hot-diggity Dog". I will send one if there are any extra to go around, long live the Queen!
Jennifer, Congratulations! I bet you ran out and did a happy dance on the beach with the dogs!
Have a great weekend.
Congrats on the article. And, thanks for putting out that perspective of "selling".
Congratulations on the article. Didn't the magazine tell you about this?
Wow, what a surprise. I'd think the magazine would've given you the head's up! I'd feel funny asking someone, "Hey, did you know you're in a magazine?" ;-)
Anyway, liked the article. You couldn't pay me enough to cold call. I personally hate being interrupted mid-American Idol so why would I ever do it to someone I wanted to like and trust me??? You hit the nail on the head as always!
Congratulatulations on the feature in the mag. Even here in Canada I am cool to the idea of cold calling.
Congratulations! That is very exciting!
I have to miss this last session - I have an appointment that cannot be changed. I would love to hear Borino's thoughts on the no cold calling issue today on your conference call as he does advocate contacting expired listings in person and on the phone. Wish I could hear it live and I can't wait for your next series.
JA, Congrats It is a well deserved honor. I look forward to reading it.
Congratulations on being feather dusted and not steam rolled over.. I missed that article.. I'm glad you found it... I did read it in its original post.
I never even read mine. I find that reading blogs and other internet activities are a more valuable use of my time. I'll happily give you my copy when it comes in. I'm at the beach so much anyway. Congratulations. I am surprised you weren't notified.
Congratulations Jennifer - it is all well deserved. It's time that the "old school" agents who don't read blogs actually learned about how things are done in the 21st century.
WOW! Way to go! What an honor for you. Congratulations!
Margaret
I saw the article this past week, in my insomniac state of mind. Must of been about 3:15 am. But I was so proud!!
